Dryer problems we help with

Find the cause.
Fix the problem.

Gas or electric, older controls or a newer display: the repair depends on what actually failed. We test no-heat, noise and drum-drive problems on household dryers.

01 / Heating

Runs normally, but produces no heat

Gas and electric dryers use different heating systems. We check the components and controls fitted to your model rather than assuming every cold load needs a heater.

02 / Noise

Persistent squeaking, knocking or grinding

Tell us whether the sound fades after startup or continues through the cycle. We distinguish load-related sounds from wear in the rollers, pulley, belt or other moving parts.

03 / Operation

Won’t start or turn

A lit display does not prove the motor or drive system is working. We inspect start controls, switches and mechanical components when the drum will not move.

More dryer problems we repair

No heat, noise
and other dryer faults.

We repair the dryer itself: heating, drum movement, motors, switches and controls. Each symptom is checked before parts are recommended.

Squeaks or squeals

We inspect rollers, the idler pulley, the belt and other moving parts to find the source of the noise.

Drum won’t turn

A broken belt, worn idler, seized roller, motor problem or another drive-system fault can stop the drum from tumbling.

Starts, then stops

Intermittent shutdowns can involve the motor, thermal protection, airflow, wiring or electronic controls.

Rumbles or thumps

Worn drum supports, a damaged roller or another mechanical problem can make each load unusually loud.

Burning smell

Stop using the dryer if you notice a burning smell or unusual overheating. Lint, a slipping belt, motor trouble or electrical heat can all require inspection.

Won’t shut off

A dryer that keeps running may have a timer, moisture-sensor, control-board or switch problem depending on the model.

Gas dryer won’t ignite

We check the igniter, flame sensor, gas-valve coils, thermal protection and the burner sequence rather than replacing parts by guesswork.

Error codes or controls

Display errors, unresponsive controls and sensor-cycle problems can come from wiring, sensors, switches or electronic control components.

Gas & electric dryers

We diagnose the system,
not just the symptom.

Both gas and electric dryers use airflow, temperature control, drum-drive and safety components. The heat source is different, so the diagnostic path is different too.

Electric dryer

Common checks include the heating element, thermal fuse, thermostats and high-limit protection, motor and centrifugal switch, belt, rollers, idler, sensors and electronic controls.

Gas dryer

Common checks include the igniter, flame sensor, gas-valve coils, thermal fuse, airflow, burner operation, motor, drum-drive components and controls.

Common repair patterns

What we look for
when the symptoms overlap.

Runs but no heatHeating circuit, thermal protection, airflow and—on gas models—the ignition sequence.
Motor runs but the drum stays stillBelt, idler, motor and drum-support checks to find what stopped the drum.
Squeaks, thumps or grindsDrum rollers, idler pulley, belt, glides, bearings, blower wheel and foreign objects.
Starts but stops mid-cycleMotor condition, thermal protection, airflow, wiring and control behavior under load.

Real repair examples

What dryer failures
look like inside.

These photos are from our actual dryer repair work. They show why a symptom alone is not enough to identify the failed part.

Worn and seized dryer drum support rollers inside an opened dryer
New dryer drum rollers beside worn rollers during replacement

Noise / drum support

Seized and unevenly worn drum rollers

The dryer was rumbling heavily. Several rollers were badly worn and some had seized, letting the drum ride unevenly. The roller set was replaced and the drum returned to smooth operation.

Gas dryer burner showing weak flame before gas valve coil replacement
Gas dryer burner flame after gas valve coil replacement

Gas heat / burner

Weak burner flame from failing valve coils

The gas dryer was heating poorly because burner operation was weak and inconsistent. Diagnosis pointed to the gas-valve coils; replacing them restored normal burner operation and heat.

Broken dryer drive belt inside dryer with drum and motor exposed

Drum not turning

Broken drive belt

A broken belt left the drum unable to turn. The belt was replaced and the idler and drum-support system were checked before reassembly.

Heavy lint and dust buildup inside dryer cabinet around motor and duct

Inside the dryer cabinet

Heavy lint buildup inside the cabinet

This dryer had extensive lint and dust around the motor and internal ducting. Heavy buildup can restrict airflow and increase heat risk. This example shows buildup inside the appliance, not a vent-cleaning service. We do not clean the exhaust duct through the house.

A straightforward service visit

You know the plan
before the repair.

We diagnose first, explain options clearly and focus on durable repairs.

  1. Tell us what’s happening

Tell us the brand, symptom and Westchester address. Note whether the problem starts immediately or after warming up, and whether the dryer is in a garage, utility room or stacked closet.

  2. Get a diagnosis and clear options

The technician troubleshoots the problem and explains the proposed repair and pricing before work starts.

  3. Approve the repair. We test the result.

We carry out the approved work and verify operation. Completed repairs include our parts and labor guarantee.

Dryer repair in Westchester

From garage laundry
to a stacked closet.

Our Westchester dryer service covers residential addresses in 90045, including Loyola Village and streets around Manchester Avenue, Lincoln Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard. We work on everyday LG, Samsung, Whirlpool, Maytag, GE and other major household brands.

Describe what changes during the cycle. Does the dryer stay cold from the start, squeak after several minutes or stop as it warms up? Those details help us reproduce an intermittent complaint. A brief startup thump is different from persistent scraping; neither should lead to a parts quote without checking the machine.

The installation sets the access plan. A garage, utility room and upstairs laundry closet need different preparation. Tell us where the machine is, whether it is stacked and which entrance to use. We explain the findings and proposed work before you decide, without asking you to move the dryer first.

Before you call

A few useful
answers.

Are same-day dryer appointments available in Westchester and Loyola Village?

Yes. Same-day appointments are available for Westchester and Loyola Village service addresses in 90045. We are open daily, 7 AM–8 PM Pacific Time. Call to schedule the visit; an ordered replacement part can require a return visit to finish the repair.

Do you repair gas and electric LG dryers that are not heating?

Yes. Gas dryers have an ignition and burner system; electric dryers have a heating circuit. We check the relevant components and controls, then explain whether the fault is inside the appliance or involves its supply or installation.

My dryer thumps briefly after sitting unused. Is that always a bad roller?

No. On some dryers a light startup thump can fade as the support rollers warm up. Persistent squealing, scraping or a noise that worsens needs a different assessment. Tell us how long the noise lasts so we can check the actual complaint.

What if an LG or Samsung dryer becomes noisy after a few minutes?

Note when the noise begins and whether it changes with the load. We inspect the rollers, idler pulley, belt and related moving parts, and test under the conditions that reproduce the sound. Severe grinding or a burning smell is a reason to stop using the dryer.

The controls light up but the drum stays still. What does that mean?

The display alone cannot identify the fault. A belt, motor, door switch, control or another drive component may be involved. We inspect and test the dryer before recommending parts; do not bypass a switch or force the drum.

What should I prepare for a garage or utility-room service visit?

Clear the walking path and tell us where the dryer is installed. Provide gate or unit details and mention a stacked pair. Leave heavy equipment in place for the technician; do not pull it out to reach a hidden model label.

Is dryer vent cleaning included?

No. We repair the dryer, not the exhaust duct through the house or building. Dryer vent and duct cleaning are separate services we do not provide. A confirmed duct blockage should be handled by a vent-cleaning specialist.

Will I know the cost before you repair the dryer?

Yes. After diagnosis we explain the proposed repair and price for approval. The diagnostic/service call is applied toward an approved repair, and completed repairs include our parts and labor guarantee.
